FM27 Tactics

Last verified: · Editorial team and source policy

A Football Manager tactic is a formation, a mentality, a set of roles and a set of team instructions. FM27 adds the official idea of tactical effectiveness: the squad has to train the shape before it works. Downloading a file on day one skips that, which is why the beginner guide says to wait.

FM Scout's FM27 tactics index is where authored plugs are appearing. One early entry is a 4-3-3 they title Dominator. I describe the shape on its own page and I link the original. I do not re-upload the plug, and I do not rewrite the author's role list from memory.

Club pages are a different search. Chelsea in FM27 has its own query. That page is squad context plus a pointer to shapes, not a claim that one plug wins the league. Player ratings in October are quick drafts. A tactic that depends on a specific wonderkid should say so.

The pitch on the home page is a picture of a 4-3-3, with public player names as labels. It is not an exported FM27 tactic and it is not a recommendation. Use the 4-3-3 page if you want the shape explained.

Tactical effectiveness, on the features page, before you import anything.

Is the home-page pitch a real tactic?

No. It is an illustration of a 4-3-3 shape.
