Older Football Manager Games
Football Manager 26 and Football Manager 2024 still take more searches than the new game in several keyword lists. They are not this release. FM26 and FM24 have different interfaces and database eras; compare the edition you already own before upgrading. A 2026/27 season update is a database patch for those older games, not a new Sports Interactive edition.
Use this hub when the question is about the game you already own. Use the home page when the question is about 10 November 2026. The versus page is the only place I put them in one table, and even there the columns stay labelled.
Saves are the bridge. Community reports say an FM26 or FM24 career can be offered at the start of FM27. That claim is documented on the save page with its sources, and it is not a reason to uninstall the older game before you have seen the import prompt.
Is FM26 the same as FM27?
No. FM27 releases on 10 November 2026. FM26 is the previous edition.
What is a 26/27 update?
A community or database season patch for an older game. It is not Football Manager 27.
Should I uninstall FM24?
Not until you have read the save-import page and kept a backup.
