FM27 versus FM26
Football Manager 26 is the previous edition. Public discussion of its interface explains the comparison, but numerical critic and Steam averages are omitted because their current readings were not independently reproduced during this review.
FM27’s official announcements describe clearer navigation, match presentation changes, tactical effectiveness and new licensed leagues. Eurogamer’s accessible preview discusses the interface and tactics with cautious optimism. Unreadable or unverified media verdicts are excluded; this comparison does not infer an aggregate score.
FM27’s announced release is 10 November 2026. Reviews and aggregates can appear before release; their publication date alone does not invalidate them. This site could not independently verify a current Metacritic aggregate, so it supplies no figure or claim that no score exists.
Saves are a practical difference. Community reporting, including an official-forum thread, says FM26 and FM24 saves can be brought in at the start of a new FM27 game. The official help page that would make that a guarantee was not up in the same form. Read the save page before you delete FM26.
Should you upgrade? If the interface is the only reason you bounced off FM26, the preview on PC until 3 November is the cheap way to look. If you want the Saudi league, Arkema, or Shuffle Draft, those are FM27-only briefings. The price after the preview is the PC shelf price on the price page.
